What is Acupuncture?
Research has shown that acupuncture can be beneficial to people with severe heart failure. By reducing the pressure on the heart, acupuncture, acupressure decreases activity in the sympathetic nervous system regulating involuntary movements such as heartbeat and blood pressure.
Acupuncture works by using pressure points on the body that communicate with a particular organ to beneficially effect circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive and genito-urinary systems of the body.
A health art and science used for over 5,000 years, to successfully treat both pain and dysfunction in the body. Early Chinese physicians discovered an energy network, called MERIDIANS, just below the skin, which communicate with the internal organs and structures at over 1,000 acupuncture points on the body. By balancing their meridians, acupuncturists can beneficially effect the body's circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, genito-urinary and other systems of the body. The World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health have both endorsed acupuncture.
Is A Meridian Imbalance Serious?
Yes. An imbalance in any meridian may cause pain and malfunction of the associated areas or organ. In the mid and late 90's, both the World Health Organization and the American Institutes of Health, endorsed acupuncture as appropriate care for many health conditions.
What Causes A Meridian Imbalance?
Simply stated, any emotional, nutritional, structural or physical deficiency or stress to the body.
How Is A Meridian Imbalance Detected?
Traditional Chinese practitioners used, and many modern acupuncturists use, a diagnostic technique called "pulse diagnosis", which is accurate, but time consuming in the fast paced modern world. This technique also requires many years, often decades to master.
Modern acupuncturists use "Ryodoraku" or Electro-Meridian Diagnosis which was derived from electro-acupuncture research and development, done in America and China. With Ryodoraku, the "source" acupuncture points are electronically tested. The results are fed into a computer program which generates a patient chart and graph, revealing possible conditions the patient may be suffering, and which specific meridians need balancing, as well as which point(s) to treat.
How Is A Meridian Imbalance Corrected?
Acupuncture is a principle, not a technique. In our clinic, depending on patient preference, we use traditional needle, electronic, or photon application to the involved acupuncture point(s).
Who Can Benefit From Balanced Meridians?
Those exposed to electrical pollution in the form of microwaves, LED clocks, power lines, transformers, t.v.'s, computers, drugs (pushed or prescribed), emotional stress or any one of the other 100 plus conditions acupuncture has been shown to help.
